Tonya D. Harrison:

Hello and welcome to another episode of the Operations Toolbox, the show where solopreneurs and micro-business owners turn to learn how to leverage tools, systems and teams to build and grow sustainable businesses. I'm your host, Tonya D Harrison, and today we're diving into a topic that resonates with every entrepreneur out there. We're going to be talking about clarity in the midst of chaos. Deep breath. As solopreneurs and micro-business owners, we often find ourselves juggling numerous tasks, wearing multiple hats and dealing with the constant ebb and flow of challenges, both business and personal. But fear not. In today's episode, we'll explore three key strategies to help you find clarity when chaos strikes.

Tonya D. Harrison:

And listen, I know chaos all too well. This year, I found myself in a chaotic state due to some personal challenges that directly impacted my business, so I realized that, when I look back at every time I found myself in the midst of chaos and I felt like I could not find clarity, there were three key things that I did to help move myself forward, and I want to share them with you today. The first one is something that we know all too well, right? So point number one is cultivating a victorious mindset. Most of us understand that success starts in the mind, and having a victorious mindset is crucial in navigating the turbulent waters of entrepreneurship. But it's easier said than done and I totally get it, and I understand that Everyone says adopt a positive mindset. And, again, easier said than done. When you're facing chaos, it could be extremely tough, but it could be done. So, for me, some of the tools that I use is I always refer back to one of my favorite scriptures, which is 2 Corinthians, chapter 10, verse 5, which talks about casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Now, I like that script. I actually I love that scripture, but one of the things it reminds me of is that I have to be in control of my thoughts, which means that I cannot let my thoughts run rampant, so I cannot allow negativity to overtake me. I need to be in control of my thoughts. I need to remember that I have the ability to overcome challenges, so it is about adopting a positive mindset and a resilient attitude, even when facing adversity. I also have some mantras that I read every single day and I repeat every single day, and you may find that during this time, you have to do more of that. But whatever you need to do to keep yourself in a positive space, you want to do that Even being mindful of the people that you are around, so that you are not even around negative energy.

Tonya D. Harrison:

By maintaining a belief in your ability to overcome challenges, you set the stage for success. That, my friend, is number one. That's point number one. That is the very beginning. It starts in the mind. Now let's move on to the second point.

Tonya D. Harrison:

So the second thing is addressing the root of the chaos, right? So when you are in a chaotic state and you have a lot going on, it's really difficult to figure out how am I going to get out of this? Right? But what we need to do is we need to identify what the root of it is and what we can do. So it's essential to identify the factors that's causing the disruption and pinpoint what you can work on immediately. So these are going to be the things that are in our control and the things that we can work on immediately, like right now.

Tonya D. Harrison:

This is not the time to create a five-year plan, and this is coming from a planner. I love planning, but this is not that time. This you're going to find it, you're going to address it immediately. So say, I have an issue with the client, right. What is the issue with the client and what can I do to fix it? Now I can always go back and put a plan in place, right, create a process in place so that this doesn't happen again.

Tonya D. Harrison:

But right now, what is it that I need to do to address it? And you need to focus on the things that you have control over, because there's going to be some things that happen that you may not have control. So, when we're talking about business, whether it's a bottleneck in your process, is a lack of organization or external factors beyond your control Addressing these issues head on allows you to regain control and create a path forward. So think about what it is that's causing it and what can you do right now to start to move forward. That is number two right, and I want you to remember use what you have. A lot of times, we have things right there at our disposal that we could use to start to work to get ourselves out of this state immediately, but we reach for things that are so far fetched and so far out there, and now is not the time to do that. Now is the time to, right now, in your circle, what are the things that you could use to start to move yourself forward?

Tonya D. Harrison:

The third thing, and the final point, is asking better questions for clear insight. You hear that We've been hearing this a lot. Right, so? But instead of dwelling on the chaos, start to ask yourself empowering questions. What can you learn from this situation? How can you turn this challenge into an opportunity? Right now is there an opportunity to turn this challenge into an opportunity.

Tonya D. Harrison:

You have to learn how to reframe your perspective. That's one of the things I talk about in another podcast episode. When it comes to failure, right, reframing it. We've been so conditioned to think that failure is such a terrible thing and when we do it, it brings about shame and we don't want to share it a lot of times. But we have to start to reframe it Because there's something to be learned, there's something that we can grow through. So by reframing your Perspective and seeking valuable insights, you now empower yourself to make informed decisions. So now I can start to make decisions to even bring me further away or through this chaotic state, and Then you start to chart a course towards clarity. Things starts to get so clear where you can easily see what your next moves are.

Tonya D. Harrison:

Now. If you want to develop the five-year plan, you could go ahead and do it, but when you're in that state, that chaotic state where chaos is consuming you, you have to find a way out of that first and then start to gain some clarity and then you'll be able to create your plan. So, as solopreneurs and micro business owners, we have to be able to navigate chaos and find clarity, and one of the things that that can help you is Utilizing tools and systems and teams. You know, leveraging these things within your business and even in your personal life. That is it. Remember this podcast is your go-to resource for mastering the art of Operations. If you find yourself in a chaotic state as it relates to your business and even in your personal life, you can take these key strategies and start to implement them to move forward.

Tonya D. Harrison:

Before we wrap up today's episode, I want to take a moment to reflect on the three points. The first one was to cultivate a Victorious mindset. You got this Address the root of the chaos, so that you could start to move forward. And remember use what you have. The third and final point is to ask better questions for clear insight. Apply these principles to your business and watch as clarity emerges from the chaos. That concludes another episode of the operations toolbox. I'm Tanya D Harrison, your host, reminding you that with the right tools and mindset, you can turn chaos into triumph. Until next time, keep building and growing.
